Privacy policy for BENFRED Studio

1. Controller

IT-Meeder, owner Dennis Meeder, Sababurger Str. 1, 34388 Trendelburg-Gottsbüren, Germany, email: kontakt@it-meeder.de, see Imprint.

2. The essentials

  • This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services. Fonts and images are served from our own server.
  • Studio works on your PC. Overlays, stats and settings stay there.
  • Our licence server only learns what it needs for the licence: key, device ID and your PC's name.
  • Nothing is sold yet. When sales open, we will add here which payment provider handles payment and invoicing.

3. Website and server log files

The website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, owner René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. Our licence server runs at Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. When you visit, the web servers process technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type) in log files. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (secure operation). On the licence server, log files are deleted after 14 days; at ALL-INKL.COM they are deleted automatically once the period set there expires. Data processing agreements under Art. 28 GDPR are in place with both providers.

4. Reservations before sales open

If you reserve a spot, we store your email address, the plan you chose, optionally your Twitch channel, your language, and the time and version of your consent. To prevent abuse we also store a shortened, non-reversible value derived from your IP address for at most 24 hours. We only use this data to send you the purchase link when sales open.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing kontakt@it-meeder.de. We delete the data after you withdraw consent, or at the latest 6 months after sales open.

5. Purchases

Licences are not on sale yet. Before sales open, we will add here which payment provider handles payment and invoicing and which details we receive from it.

6. Licence checks in Studio

When you activate Studio, it sends your licence key, a device ID and your PC's name (at most 40 characters) to our licence server. The device ID is a hash of the Windows machine identifier, not a name or a hardware list. The PC name only helps you tell your devices apart. After that, Studio usually checks once a day, using a signed licence token, whether the licence is still valid.

The licence database stores the licence, plan, device IDs, device names and timestamps, but no IP addresses. The log files described in section 3 apply to the web server in front of it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: a licence covers one PC, and we need to be able to check that. We delete the data at the latest 12 months after the licence ends.

7. Connections from your PC to other services

Studio connects directly from your PC to services you set up. This data does not pass through us; the providers' privacy notices apply:

  • Twitch: sign-in, chat, events such as follows and raids, predictions, channel points
  • OBS Studio, Counter-Strike 2, the League client and VALORANT: game data is read locally on your PC
  • Riot Games: for your VALORANT rank and history, Studio asks Riot directly, using your existing sign-in in the Riot client
  • Leetify for the Premier rating (with your Steam ID), emote services (7TV, BTTV, FFZ), and StreamElements for donations if you connect it

FACEIT: So you don't need your own FACEIT key, Studio fetches Elo and level through our server. To do so it sends your FACEIT name and your licence token. We cache the response for at most 60 seconds.

AI assistant: The assistant uses your own access to Claude (Anthropic) or Codex (OpenAI). Your messages and the settings the assistant reads go to that provider under your account. We do not receive them. Speech is recognised locally on your PC.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, for example the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
